How I work

The quality of our relationship is really important. I aim to create the conditions for us to have an emotionally safe and deeply exploratory journey together. I actively guide you in this journey - I don't just sit back and listen. And if we feel it is not the right fit between us, I can support you to find another therapist.

What we cover is up to you. There might be a specific issue, crisis or trauma, a general sense of feeling ‘stuck’, or a need for new insights and change.

As an integrative therapist, I combine different theories and models to suit you. These are typically person-centred counselling, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My practice is also influenced by existential and psychodynamic theory. If appropriate, we can bring coaching into our work, to explore how you would like your future to look, and map out a route forward.

I have seen that, when we are able to explore and express ourselves, we can experience greater emotional clarity and stability. From this more stable place, we have the possibility of accepting or changing aspects of our life that we are struggling with. This exploration takes guts and honesty, and is worth the effort.

I practice in two rooms in SE4 and SE23, both are calm and quiet, in locations with good access by public transport (Brockley/Honor Oak Park/Crofton Park stations and bus routes). I also hold some sessions online.
